Quantitative Analysis. Vladimir Alexeyev. Translated from the Russian by E. B. Uvarov

V. N. ALEXEYEV is Ihc author of several textbooks which are popular among teachers and students of analytical chemistry. These textbooks have served thousands in their studies, and many analytical chemists use them in their practical work.

This book is a study aid 011 the quantitative analysis of inorganic subs lances and is intended for students of non-chemical colleges and departments. It sets forth the theoretical principles and practical methods of quantitative analysis, and describes methods of work, apparatus, instruments, and calculation of analysis results, including the applications of the methods of mathematical statistics.
The second printing of Quantitative Analysis will be followed by the companion volume Qualitative Analysis.

This is also a textbook intended for students in non-chemical institutions of higher education. It can also be used by analytical chemists in their practical work and by all those engaged in the held of analytical chemistry. The book presents the theoretical principles of qualitative analysis and describes the most important reactions of various anions and cations and systematic procedures for analysis of their mixtures. Cerlain spot and microchemical tests for detection of cations and anions are examined. Special chapters deal with the detection of titanium, vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten ions and with the analysis of metals and alloys.

The two volumes, Quantitative Analysis and Qualitative Analysis, issued by Mir Publishers will form a connected and lucid account in the field of analytical chemistry.
